The Direct Payments Scheme is available to Mental Health service users. It can provide cash to allow choices about recovery, in place of some of the care services provided by LPT/LCC. Direct Payments are tax free and do not affect benefits.
Direct Payments apply to:
Those with mental health problems, over 16 and using LPT/LCC carers who have
been assessed as needing support
Direct Payments can be used for:
Employing help instead of that provided by LPT/LCC
Employing similar help that is more focused on the way the client wants to
be recovering from their illness
Direct Payments can pay for:
Personal care / support / recovery
Support for day care needs
Support for carers
To apply:
Consider exactly how extra cash could aid care / support / recovery
Have this request assessed by LPT/LCC
Guidance and support:
A community psychiatric nurse or LPT/LCC can give help in applying for The
Direct Payments Scheme

Currently care provision is by LPT (Lincolnshire Partnership Trust) for under
65’s and by LCC (Lincolnshire County Council) for over 65’s.
